This easy slow cooker recipe doubles as a meat marinade. Simply leave out the water, combine the ingredients in a Ziploc bag and marinate your meat for up to 3 hours.
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup whiskey
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp sage
- Himalayan salt & pepper, to taste
- Beef roast of your choosing
- Combine all marinade ingredients in the slow cooker. Stir.
- Cut the roast into equal parts, maximising surface area. Place beef in the slow cooker with the marinade.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours.
- Enjoy finger-licking goodness on a salad, alongside your favourite side dishes or on its own.
