Sautéed Apple Slaw

Sauteed Apple SlawIt is apple season in New Zealand, and we are taking full advantage of it. Truth is, fruits and veggies go better together 🙂

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp bacon fat (or coconut oil)
  • 1/2 head red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1 green apple, thinly sliced into strips
  1. Prepare the ingredients by thinly slicing the onion, cabbage and apple.
  2. In a large pan, melt the fat/oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the onion and cabbage. Continue to stir until they begin to soften.
  4. Add the sliced apple, vinegar, rosemary, Himalayan salt and pepper. Continue to stir until apple softens slightly.
  5. Serve alongside your favourite meat dish.
