It is apple season in New Zealand, and we are taking full advantage of it. Truth is, fruits and veggies go better together 🙂
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp bacon fat (or coconut oil)
- 1/2 head red cabbage, thinly sliced
- 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp fresh rosemary
- 1/4 tsp Himalayan salt
- 1 green apple, thinly sliced into strips
- Prepare the ingredients by thinly slicing the onion, cabbage and apple.
- In a large pan, melt the fat/oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and cabbage. Continue to stir until they begin to soften.
- Add the sliced apple, vinegar, rosemary, Himalayan salt and pepper. Continue to stir until apple softens slightly.
- Serve alongside your favourite meat dish.
